Is every Model 3 eligible?
Every Model 3 trim qualifies — rear-wheel drive, Long Range AWD and Performance alike. There is no trim-level exclusion to worry about on this model, which is not true of the Cybertruck.
Why the Model 3 specifically
The Model 3 is the model most likely to sit under a government incentive price cap, and that makes it the one where the referral reward is the smaller half of the decision. On a car that clears Canada's $50,000 EVAP ceiling or France's bonus price cap, the grant is worth ten to twenty times the referral benefit. Sort the cap question first; the code takes seconds and stacks on top either way.
What the reward converts to on a Model 3
The Model 3 is the most efficient car in the range, which has a counter-intuitive consequence for European buyers: because a Supercharging reward is granted in kilometres, the efficient car turns those kilometres into the fewest paid kWh. The same 2,000 km reward is therefore worth less in money on a Model 3 than on a Model Y. It is still the cheaper car to run — the reward is simply a smaller slice of a smaller bill.
In numbers: 2,000 km at 13–16 kWh/100 km is roughly 260–320 kWh of charging. Multiply by your country's Supercharger rate — the bands are on each country page — or compare all five models side by side on the models hub.
Where a Model 3 sits against the incentive price caps
The Model 3 is the model most likely to clear these ceilings, and that is its real advantage — it is the configuration where a Canadian EVAP rebate or a French bonus écologique is realistically still on the table. The full cap table for all five markets is on the models hub — run your configurator total against it before you think about a code.
The mistake Model 3 buyers actually make
Model 3 buyers are the most frequent victims of the single biggest referral mistake: configuring first and looking for a code box afterwards. The benefit attaches when you open the referral link, before configuration. If you have already built and saved a configuration, start the session again from the link rather than hunting for a field that is not there.
Applying it to a Model 3 order
Open the referral link before you configure — the benefit attaches to the session, not to a code box at the end — then confirm it is listed in the order summary before you pay, and again in the Tesla app once the car is yours.
Is it worth using on a Model 3?
Yes — it is free, it changes nothing about your Model 3's price or delivery date, and every valid code gives the identical benefit, so there is no such thing as a better one. Just keep it in proportion: on a Model 3 the items above move more money than the code does. Why that is, and what the code does and doesn't do.
